All right than. This is what I think about Gie the movie. I come to a realisation that what we wanted the most in our lives will eventually happen. Dan Allah punya cara yang sangat sempurna untuk mewujudkan mimpi seseorang. Liat aja Gie, dia bilang

Nasib terbaik adalah tidak dilahirkan

yang kedua dilahirkan tapi mati muda, dan

yang tersial adalah umur tua.

Rasa-rasanya memang begitu.

Bahagialah mereka yang mati muda.

dan dia mati muda. Begitu juga Han, temennya Gie yang ingin sekali pergi ke pantai. Akhir hidupnya pun di pantai. I like the ending, sad yet romantic without being maudlin. And the poem was so touching! Hand me a Kleenex. The two friends smiling and playing on the sand beach. Gie experienced the same dream repeatedly (at least on the movie).
