kak icut

It was very sad to watch the program on teli about the tsunami especially when you know that the very person doing the recording is one close to you. All I can say was “get out of there … hurry!” I was shocked to read on Kompas newspaper dated 5 January on page 19 about Kak Icut. I went to the hospital right after my office hour and again on Saturday. I felt relieve that she and her family were getting better and the doctors treated her well. On the second visit, there were Mbak Penta, Coky, Donny, Teh Yuri and Kang Iman and their children Gina and Fatia, Mas Adi, Mbak Wida, Da Yerry and Mbak Aning also with their children. A little bit like reunion of SSEAYP ‘92, but we were more concern about Kak Icut. Kak Icut said that Bli Kandia called her from Bali and also would visit her before he goes to Turkey, Mas Bimo and Boy also called her that night, and not to forget Kak Lina from Lombok. I know Bang Ihsan flew all the way from Banjarmasin to see her and Uni Mira went there this week with her husband, while Kak Utty and Kak Tia went to the hospital last week. I guess Mbak Santi and Mbak Andri went there as well, but I’m not sure when.

When Mas Adi talked to Bang David, he said that he has a mix feeling. There is sadness, happiness, tiredness, guilt (for not being near the family during the catastrophe since he was in Medan waiting for entrance paper to get into Aceh), etc. When we talked to Kak Icut, we sensed fear for what had happened to her. At 10 pm, there was a re-run on Metro TV about the finding of a Police Officer’s body, which happens to be Kak Icut’s Uncle. The amateur recording on Metro TV is by Putri – direct cousin of Kak Icut, and the people on that recording are the family of Kak Icut from her Mom’s side. All the spotlights from tv channels and also ministers visit won’t bring back her (newly wed) brother in law to life. We all sorry Kak Icut, for all your lost.
