new baby

Yesterday I had a date with Kak Nancy to see Kak Utty’s new born baby at Harapan Kita Hospital. Not a lass! This former Parliament member was looking sophisticated. Really felt like walking with a member (sigh!). Unlike me, she was very sharp and knew how to get things done. We arrived at the hospital around 8 p.m., way after visiting hours. The door was already locked then she asked the guard to let us in. If it was only me, I’d be heading home and not asking for any favours since I was not paying any attention to the visiting regulation. But Kak Nancy, with her soft voice asked the nurses to let us in with a promise that it would only for a short visit. We did see Kak Utty, but not Kamui the baby in person only in picture. It was a vaginal delivery and the mother was looking pretty. There’s something about a mother who just delivered her baby. You just feel it! Love was in the air.
My chat with Kak Nancy brought us to another meaningful discussion about life and how we should compromise. She never stops compromising from the very beginning of her new life. It was nice to know her point of view as a modern woman, with a daughter, works for Human Rights Commission, and speak on behalf of former member of the parliament.
